You take initiative to develop opportunities for new partnerships and collaborations regarding service learning, work placements, and stakeholder engagement. You value the principles of community development and work actively to embed them in your work.
The Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the overall function and success of the Volunteer
Program, which involves being familiar with the overall operations and needs throughout the organization and communicating with each department accordingly. The position also facilitates engagement and community development processes and practices that further the organization’s mandate. On occasion, the Engagement Coordinator assists with special projects that help advance the organization’s strategic objectives.

**Type of Position**:
Full-time - Permanent, 37.5 hours/week, Monday -Friday
**ROLE**:To provide administrative oversight and logístical coordination of all projects, activities and programs designed to:
- Inspire, and engage volunteers to improve lives and create positive community impact
- Achieve volunteer engagement objectives in support of the Saskatoon Food Bank and
Learning Centre’s strategic goals
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Maintain and develop relationships with corporate and individual volunteers to identify quality, meaningful opportunities and engagement experiences.
- Coordination of SFBLC Volunteer Program o Design and implement volunteer engagement processes and practices o Keep all volunteer documentation and records current. o Implement and support usage of volunteer engagement software. o Provide training and/or support for all software users.
- Provide volunteer-related data and content for communications such as blog posts, newsletter articles, social media, web site development and annual reporting. o Provide volunteer data and reports to ancillary departments as needed.
- Keep abreast and knowledgeable of issues and trends related to volunteer engagement. o Coordinate volunteer recognition activities/efforts
- Special Projects o Develop, coordinate, and/or implement programs and special projects related to the advancement of the organization’s strategic objectives as required.
- External Engagement & Community Development o Coordinate service-learning, volunteer work placements, and other volunteer experiences with partner community organizations o Develop employer-supported volunteer programs with the business community o Participate in relevant professional committees and community meetings o Develop and deliver presentations to various community groups, schools, and businesses, and attend volunteer fairs and other relevant events, as needed, or requested o Make recommendations around and support the establishment of effective measurements of program and service impacts o Seek and build strategic partnerships and collaborative arrangements to advance the objectives of the organization and community

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education and Experience**
- Certificate in Volunteer Management or equivalent knowledge and experience
- Postsecondary degree in Social Sciences, or equivalent knowledge and experience
- Experience working with volunteers and/or in the community sector is preferred
- Experience using computers and audio-visual technology
**Knowledge and Skills**
