We are currently looking for someone who would enjoy planning and leading weekend activities for our dormitory students and be responsible for safely transporting students to the activities and from the airport, ferry, and other school activities such as (ASA). This position would work alongside our Activities and Recreation Coordinator to create and lead afternoon and weekend activities for our dormitory students.

**On-the-job training**
- **Hours of work**: Tuesday-Friday 3:00 pm-5:30pm and Saturday 2:00pm-10:00pm potential for increased hours.
- Hours may vary depending on activities and potential for driving on Friday nights as well.
- Airport and Ferry pickups and drop offs at certain times of the year.
- $25.00 per hour plus 4% in lieu.
- Potential to participate in other areas such as coaching and driving for sports teams.

**Driving Responsibilities**:

- Safely drive students to and from school activities. Changes to routes do occur. There are schedules for certain days of the week, and flexibility is needed with changes.
- Perform Pre-trip and Post-trip inspection reports, reporting to Transportation Supervisor and Maintenance Supervisor when concerns arise.
- Comply with all school and government regulations, laws and policies and good safety practices.
- Communication with Transportation Team (Supervisor, Front office) and to attend meetings as required.

**Afternoon and Weekend Activities Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate and promote afternoon and weekend activities for dormitory students in conjunction with the Activities and Recreation Coordinator
- Liase with internal and external stakeholders to assist delivery of evening/weekend events and activities.
- Organize and deliver activities, special events, and drop-in activities for students.
- Facilitate and monitor a variety of outdoor recreation and activities that support student’s wellness and campus life.
- Communicate to all relevant parties such as Principal, Director of Residence, and Coordinator of Dorms on the details of the activities, coaching and events. (i.e., who is attending, when, personnel needed).
- Secure necessary facilities, equipment, supplies, medical needs, to operate activities.
- Prepare and obtain all forms needed for activities such as waivers, invoices and receipts in a timely manner using Schools Buddy Program.
- Enforce health and safety regulations for the students during events in conjunction with Brookes Safety Policy.
- Coordinate and promote evening/weekend activities for dormitory students.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding recreation events and activities.
- 1-2 years driving experience, preferably in the education sector.
- Diploma or Degree in Recreation or related discipline an asset.
- Previous experience working in summer camps and with international students and asset.
- Is punctual, reliable and versatile.
- Able to perform manual tasks and physical demands as required within the duties such as periods of standing, assisting with luggage of lifting, bending, and twisting.
- Is positive with a caring attitude.
- Can work cooperatively and with mínimal supervision.
- Communicates clearly and respectfully with parents, school staff, students and the general public in a courteous, professional manner and is able to maintain confidentiality.
- Standard First Aid with CPR C an asset.

**Requirements for this position**:

- Current BC Class 4 unrestricted or Class 2 Driver's License.
- Must pass and maintain a clear Ministry of Public Service criminal record check for the purposes of working with vulnerable children.
- Provide a copy of your clean BC driver’s abstract.
