**About the Position**

The role of Bartender with Peake is an exciting opportunity for the right person. In this position you join a bright, experienced, fun and professional events team. Tasked with providing excellent customer service and a delicious selection of drinks, Bartenders must work hard to ensure drink services run smoothly and that every guest is happy, comfortable, and safe. Bartenders must respect and display Peake Core Values.

***Major Responsibilities**
- Follow directions of the event supervisor in order to properly execute bar service
- Assist with set-up, clean-up, and tear-down of Peake’s event bars on all shifts
- Keep beverages properly stored (i.e. chilled, iced, etc.) on events
- Ensure bar equipment (rented or Peake’s) is clean and to Peake’s standards when it arrives on-site
- Prepare a variety of drinks based on a pre-set menu provided in the gigbook or on-site
- Ensure strict adherence to Peake bar service procedures and policies and to the guidelines provided by the _BC Responsible Beverage Service Program_**_ _**(Serving-it-right)
- Sell tickets or handle cash/credit/debit as needed

*Tasks outside of those outlined in the job description may be required during times of increased demand*

*Your staffing manager cannot guarantee exclusively bartending shifts, all bartenders should be comfortable serving if needed*

**Education, skills and qualifications**
- Previous experience in similar catering or restaurant businesses with stable work history
- Bartender training
- Serving-it-right
- First Aid certification (a positive)
- Strong knowledge of hygiene procedures (HACCP)
- Professional demeanor and appearance
- Strong knowledge of cocktail recipes - vodka, gin, tequila-based
- General maths skills

**Ongoing Expectations and Physical/Mental Demands**
- This role will require lifting of supplies, equipment, and product
- This position requires long periods of standing and moving
- This role will require travel in and around the Greater Vancouver Area
- Frequent tight deadlines and last-minute changes based on client needs
- This position may require basic maths skills

We cannot guarantee a set number of shifts per week/month. Scheduling is done according to business demands and need.
