• The goal of our Summer Student Program is to develop the leaders of tomorrow by providing meaningful work experiences that allow students to gain valuable industry knowledge from all levels of the organization. The Students will have the opportunity to grow their professional network, give back to the community, and gain real world skills that will enhance their knowledge applicable to their studies._

**Interested?**

The student will work at our Edmonton Terminal maintenance department completing equipment checks and terminal maintenance, painting, cleaning, lawn and weed control, and will work in a safe manner at all times. The student will also have the opportunity to learn about Gibson Energy's Operations Management System (OMS) and will be involved in the documentation function relating to OMS.

**What You'll Be Doing**

• Ensures personal safety and follow safe operating procedures for facility.
• Maintains current safety training and certification.
• Is familiar with and follow all Gibson’s HH&S manuals and policies.
• Ensures adherence to quality standards.
• Demonstrates competency and follow maintenance procedures.
• Completes general upkeep, routine and regularly scheduled maintenance of facilities.
• Reports problems to Supervisor.
• Performs routine building maintenance.

**What You'll Bring**

• Completion of a High School Diploma.
• Strong MS Excel and Word skills.
• Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License.
• Has strong mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge or previous summer work experience in the petroleum industry would be an asset.
• A motivated team player, capable of managing several concurrent and varied projects.
• A quick learner who approaches all projects with a sense of urgency.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Work well independently and work with mínimal supervision.
• Work with external and internal customers in a courteous and timely manner.
• Willing to work in and contribute to a team environment.

**Working Conditions**

• Required skills include the ability to lift, carry and pull up to 50 lbs, effectively work at heights, climb stairs and ladders frequently and walk for 50-60% of the shift which may include walking on uneven surfaces.
