CNC Programmer Job Description

**About Us**

Tilism Designs Studio is an innovative manufacturing and design company based in Toronto, specializing in precision machining, product prototyping, and custom fabrication. We are looking for an experienced CNC Lathe Operator to join our growing production team and operate our **Mazak QTN Nexus 200 MS (2005)** lathe machine.

**Responsibilities**
- Set up, program, and operate **Mazak CNC Lathe (QTN Nexus 200 MS)** using **Mazatrol controls**.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining instructions.
- Select and install appropriate tooling, workholding, and materials.
- Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and in-process inspections.
- Monitor machine performance, making necessary adjustments to maintain tight tolerances.
- Maintain accurate production records and ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance and keep the machine and work area clean and organized.
- Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to troubleshoot and optimize production runs.

**Qualifications**
- **2+ years** of experience operating Mazak CNC Lathes (preferably Nexus series).
- Strong knowledge of **Mazatrol programming** and machine setup.
- Ability to read and interpret **engineering drawings and GD&T symbols**.
- Experience with multi-axis and live tooling preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to precision work.
- Basic understanding of quality inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or in a team environment.
