**Job Title**: Controller - Commercial Real Estate Development

**Location**: Toronto, Ontario: Full time in-office

As they continue to grow and expand their portfolio, they are seeking a talented and experienced Controller to join the team.

**Position Overview**: As a Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the financial operations of the commercial real estate development projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial data while providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. This position reports directly to the CFO.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Financial Management**: Manage all aspects of financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for the commercial real estate development projects.

**Financial Reporting**: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

**Budget Oversight**: Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

**Cash Flow Management**: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for project needs.

**Audit and Compliance**: Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.

**Team Leadership**: Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development.

**Continuous Improvement**: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, implement best practices, and enhance financial reporting tools and systems.

**Qualifications**:
Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
Proven experience as a Controller or a similar senior finance role, preferably within the commercial real estate development industry.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
