**Compensation**:$22.05 - $23.86 per hour (inclusive of wage enhancements; dependent on qualifications)

**Nature & Scope**:
With the support of the Supervisor, Child Care, the incumbent will be working in a team of Early Childhood Educators to guide children in their physical, social, cognitive and emotional development, in accordance with the Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA), YMCA Playing to Learn (YP2L) curriculum and program statement. The incumbent must be adaptable, competent and comfortable working with children who range in age from birth to 6 years old.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the planning, organization and implementation of the YMCA Child Care Program
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of the YMCA, as well as meet or exceed all standards required by the Ministry of Education, the YMCA of Eastern Ontario and any other third-party regulatory body
- Ensure the safety of children in programs by providing continuous care and supervision
- Uphold the philosophy and values of the YMCA Child Care Centre and strive to improve and sustain services at the highest level of quality

**Qualifications**:

- Criminal Reference Check (CPIC) including Vulnerable Sector Check completed not more than 120 days prior to interview, with results acceptable to the YMCA of Eastern Ontario.
- Experience working with children from birth to age 6.
- Experience with play-based pedagogy and knowledge of How Does Learning Happen?
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators is considered an asset.
- Up-to date-immunizations.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C.
