**Build Something Extraordinary**:
Have you ever wanted to help build an environment where talented people can do their best work every day? At Plotly, that’s exactly what our People Operations team does. We empower our global team — spanning Canada, the U.S., and the U.K. — to thrive by delivering exceptional employee experiences, seamless operations, and a culture grounded in inclusivity, innovation, and connection.
As a **People Operations Specialist**, you’ll join a passionate and collaborative team dedicated to optimizing every stage of the employee lifecycle — from onboarding to engagement to offboarding. Your work will directly support the foundation that allows Plotly employees to create extraordinary data visualization and analytics tools that empower users around the world.
**Your Role in the Plotly Story**:
As a **People Operations Specialist**, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth, efficient, and compliant People Operations across the organization. You’ll support HR programs and initiatives that strengthen our culture, enhance the employee experience, and ensure alignment with local employment regulations and company objectives.
Reporting to the VP of People Operations, you’ll be a trusted partner to managers and employees alike — helping drive engagement, manage benefits, optimize systems, and ensure operational excellence in everything we do. This is a hybrid role, we are looking for someone to be in our Montreal office at least 2 days per week.
**Your Responsibilities**:
- **Champion the Employee Experience** - Design and support programs that promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging employee journey across all stages of the employee lifecycle, embodying Plotly’s values.
- **Onboarding & Offboarding Excellence** - Oversee end-to-end onboarding and offboarding logistics (equipment, access, HRIS updates) in collaboration with IT and DevOps, ensuring a smooth and compliant transition for every employee.
- **Benefits Administration** - Manage employee benefits across Canada, the U.S., and the U.K., ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely communication.
- **HR Partner & Coach** - Serve as a trusted partner to managers, providing guidance on performance management, employee relations, and HR best practices.
- **Project Leadership** - Lead HR-related initiatives from concept to execution, ensuring alignment with company goals and effective change management.
- **HRIS Administration** - Act as the primary administrator of Plotly’s HRIS (e.g., Rippling), maintaining data accuracy, permissions, and compliance.
- **Compliance & Data Privacy** - Ensure adherence to employment laws, data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, PIPEDA), and company policies across all regions.
- **Documentation & Knowledge Management** - Maintain and update People Operations processes, Confluence pages, and internal policies.
- **Analytics & Reporting** - Track and report on key HR metrics and KPIs, providing insights to leadership for data-driven decision-making.
- **Administrative Support** - Maintain organizational charts, employee records, and internal documentation.
- **Internal Communications** - Oversee internal communications such as company newsletters, engagement updates, and employee spotlights that reflect Plotly’s culture and achievements.
- **Engagement & Culture Initiatives** - Organize and coordinate team-building activities, Lunch & Learns, and recognition events to foster connection and inclusion.
**What You Bring to the Team**:
**Skills and Experience**
- **3-5 years of experience** in Human Resources or People Operations, ideally within a fast-growing or global organization
- A **growth mindset** and a proven ability to design, refine, and execute people programs and processes efficiently
- **Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. employment laws**, with exposure to international HR practices.
- **Experience with HRIS platforms** (e.g., Rippling or similar)
- **Proficiency in data analysis and HR reporting**, including metrics such as turnover, engagement, and retention.
- **Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills**, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- **Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills**, with the ability to build trust and foster positive relationships across teams and levels.
- Demonstrated ability to **thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment**, adapting quickly to shifting priorities and business needs
- **Self-starter** who exercises sound judgment, solves complex issues independently, and drives projects to completion.
- **High degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion** in handling sensitive information.
**Nice-to-Haves**:
- Bilingual — English and French
- Experience in a growing tech company or similar dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with data analysis or visualization tools.
