Job Description:
As a Social Services Worker, you will be responsible for providing compassionate and reliable care to individuals, including those with dementia and those requiring palliative care. Your integrity, empathy, and flexibility will be crucial in adapting to the diverse needs of our clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assisting with the Activities of Daily Living.
- Assisting with meal preparation/feeding.
- Assisting with light housekeeping.
- Assisting with personal care/bathing.
- Assisting with mobility.
- Provide personalized care to clients in various settings, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, administrative and healthcare professionals.
- Document care provided accurately and maintain detailed records.
- Demonstrate a gentle persuasive approach in managing challenging behaviors.
- Conduct yourself with integrity and uphold ethical standards in caregiving.
- Demonstrate a willingness to continue education and stay updated on best practices in caregiving.

Qualifications:

- Social Services Diploma Required
- Possess CPR & First Aid certification - Level C.
- Complete the Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) course. (preferred)
- Obtain a clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
- Proof of having received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine (preferred).
- Food Handler Certification. (preferred)
- Familiarity with dementia and palliative care.
- Dependable and reliable
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility, punctuality and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of clients.

Pay: $18.00 per hour

- DCS / DEC (required)

**Experience**:

- Social Work: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (required)

- Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

- 25% (preferred)

Work Location: In person
