BillWardLife is seeking a compassionate and dedicated **Indigenous Recovery Navigator** to join our team. This role is instrumental in supporting individuals and families on their journey to addiction recovery, fostering personal growth, and empowering community members to overcome challenges. We are committed to cultural sensitivity, authenticity, and creating an environment where healing and thriving go hand in hand.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Offer personalized, one-on-one mentorship to individuals navigating recovery, addressing their unique needs, goals, and challenges.
- Integrate cultural, spiritual, and community-based practices into recovery support to promote holistic healing.
- Demonstrate the ability to follow direction, maintain self-motivation, and actively engage in training and learning opportunities.
- Partner with First Nation communities and agencies to develop and implement effective case plans.
- Collaborate with detox centers, treatment facilities, community organizations, and government agencies to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
- Build trusting relationships through meaningful interactions, such as home visits and informal community engagement.
- Provide emotional care and guidance to families grieving the loss of loved ones, fostering comfort and understanding.
- Strengthen recovery networks by working closely with community organizations and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and resource-sharing.
**Qualifications**:
- **Strong understanding of the recovery journey**:
- **Deep connection and understanding of Indigenous cultural practices and traditions.**:
- **Ability to accurately and concisely write reports, fill out paperwork, create invoices, etc**:
- **Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust and rapport.**:
- **Experience with outreach and community engagement is an asset.**:
- **Empathy, resilience, and a commitment to meeting individuals where they are.**
**Essential Qualifications**:
- Trauma informed / Naloxone training / Suicide Prevention (will train)
- Knowledge and / or understanding of dual diagnosis, or co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety, bi-polar, PTSD, schizophrenia
- Flexibility with hours and/or days of work
- Minimum 2 years sobriety
- CPR / AED First Aid certificate
- Valid license and good working registered vehicle with 2,000,000 liability

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $150.00-$250.00 per day
