Duties/Responsibilities Provides day to day direction and oversight to laborers and equipment operators Coaches, mentors, and trains direct reports Responsible for tracking crew hours and productivity and reporting on these metrics Responsible for performance management and when necessary, discipline up to and including terminations Daily planning of tasks 3 day look ahead Participate in daily toolbox talks and standard work procedure reviews Daily review of paperwork including crew timecards, FLHA’s, production sheets, coding of timecards Maintaining tool cribs, ensuring adequate numbers and types are available and making sure tools are in good working order Plans and supervises day-to-day labor operations on site. Identifies manpower requirements for the project and make recommendations to the Superintendent and/or Project Manager. Ensures adequate site-specific safety orientation and training has been completed before new employees start on site Conducts safety meetings on a regular basis. Incident investigations (support safety advisor where required) Jump in on the tools and help laborers with duties such as stripping, and run equipment as required Working Conditions 44 hours per week starting at 7:00 am. Overtime and work on weekends as required. Two paid 15 minutes breaks and one ½ hour unpaid lunch break per day Working at heights Working outside in extreme weather Competencies Ability to work well in a team and independently Positive attitude towards safety Punctual and reliable Self-motivated Willing to learn Manual dexterity, mechanically inclined, physically fit **Requirements**: 3+ years of construction experience working in a similar leadership role Experience working on institutional, high-rise, or mixed-use construction projects preferred. Zoom boom experience Skid steer experience Fall Protection ticket considered an asset WHMIS2015 (we can provide)
