PRODUCTION/SANITATIONTEAM LEADER
We are currently looking for motivated and reliable Production/Sanitation Team Leader for full-time Night shift work for our Thursday to Saturday shift plus one Sunday in a 4-week period. Must be able to work other shifts

SUMMARY:
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

- Must be able to work with strong odours (sanitation chemical) and food allergens.
- Personal protective equipment provided (such as hairnets, safety shoes, hard hats and earplugs).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Coordinates production resources to lead the transition from traditional production management to process oriented Team Management.
- Administer the collective agreement in a manner consistent with Teamwork and hold regular communication meetings with Line Leads and team members.
- Administer and manage team member requirements, (illness, absence, leave of absence, shift planning, and manpower coordination).
- Use Continuous Improvement Processes including all tools effectively. Promote Total Employee Involvement, Ownership and Engagement.
- Individual personal training. Manage the shift to agreed upon standards.
- Execute projects operations roll-out, technical training and transfer and start-up plans.
- Ensure manpower model is implemented, and that team members are trained and flexible to meet company objectives with human, food, and environmental safety, quality and operating targets.
- Coach shift Lead hand and team members to ensure consistency of processes.
- Daily pass off communication meetings with prior to and after shift Team Leaders
- Ensure that team members are developing zero loss culture strategies and are knowledgeable of master plan targets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- At least 3 years previous experience in food processing, packaging, Continuous Improvement and personnel management_;_
- University degree in Food Science, or related field (or at least 5 years direct related experience may be considered in lieu of degree);
- Good working knowledge of food plant sanitation, safety, CI, GMP’s and HACCP;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
- Previous experience leading a unionized production team would be an asset.
