Edmonton, Canada Providence Centre Full time

Providence Centre is looking for a Summer Activity Aide. This is a summer student position. Applicants must be returning to school in September 2017.

**Job Status**: Fulltime Seasonal

**Period of Employment**: 4 months

**Hours of Work**: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. May sometimes require weekend and overtime hours

**Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to**:

- Assist in preparing, organizing and implementing recreation activity services, both group and one-on-one, including outings, leisure activities, exercise and stretching, crafts and fun games, daily prayer and meditation, etc.;
- Assist staff members in serving meals and snacks;
- Assist with walking Sisters/residents in the complex, porter Sisters/residents to and from the chapel and other areas within the complex;
- Set up of venues, arrange refreshments, purchase activity materials, and arrange transportation of residents to various scheduled locations, outings and events;
- Assist in preparing monthly activities calendar under the direction of the Recreation Activity Aide and in cooperation with the Nursing Department and other departments as required;
- Maintain appropriate records and documentation;
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Must be a student preferably pursuing Rehabilitation, Recreation, Nursing or other related programs;
- Must possess a positive attitude, sincere desire, and ability to deal respectfully and pleasantly with the resident Sisters, staff and visitors;
- Comfortable working with the elderly and in a Catholic Faith environment
- Ability to work as a member of team
- Must be fluent in English in both written and verbal.
- Has clear Vulnerable Sector and Criminal Record Check
