**What You’ll Do - The Role (Responsibilities)**
- Preparing monthly reports that summarize company business activity and financial position
in areas of income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, expenses and earnings
- Managing the month end close process to ensure accurate and timely results
- Preparing and reviewing monthly accounting schedules
- Supporting the co-ordination and delivery of monthly financial statements
- Investigating variances and trends compared to budget and historical figures providing
meaningful insight for management reporting
- Work with accounting team to review & maintain consistency in accounting policies and
practices across the organization
- Manage, coach and mentor direct reports including one to ones, recruiting and
compensation
- Provide leadership and support to the accounting team
- Assist with year end audit and prepare supporting schedules
- Monthly and Annual Foreign Exchange Reporting for transactions and amounts
- Manage government compliance filings and reporting as required
- Manage job costing and profitability reporting and recognition
- Monthly review and reconciliation of service WIP
- Ensure internal controls over financial reporting and assets are in place and maintained
- Manage year-end inventory counts including financial variance adjustments
- Working with operational teams to oversee management of fixed asset accounting and
tracking
- Look for operational efficiencies and have a mindset of continuous improvement
- Other projects as assigned
- Other tasks and responsibilities may be required from time to time consistent with the
growth and development of the organization and the position of Accounting Manager

**What you Need**
- University degree and Canadian accounting designation (CPA)
- 5+ years of progressive experience
- Strong knowledge of ASPE
- Management accounting skills are critical for accurate reporting of department and branch
P&L
- The ability to work with others in the organization as a team, always putting the customer
(external and internal) first
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while adhering to deadlines
- Experience working in a multi branch, multi provincial organization is an asset
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
- In the case of a power outage or declared State of Emergency by any level of Government, be available for work
- Act in a strong, professional manner always maintaining the highest of ethical standards with
Company employees, customers, and suppliers

**Working Conditions**
- Travel may be required
- Ability to attend meetings and conduct presentations.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Overtime as required
- Lifting or moving up to 10lbs. may be required.

**Experience**:

- Progressive Accounting Manager: 5 years (required)
- Strong knowledge of ASPE: 1 year (required)
- Reporting of department and branch P&L: 2 years (required)
- Previous work in a multi branch/ provincial organization: 1 year (preferred)
- Excellent Customer Service: 1 year (preferred)
