**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Traffic Control Foreperson and Superintendent your duties will include
- Ensuring that all safety procedures and protocols are followed
- Setting up closures with adequate signage, barricading and cones, lane markings
- Safely maintain and monitor all closures
- Removing and relocating traffic equipment as needed
- Performing flagging activities to safely direct vehicles, heavy equipment and foot traffic for the safety of road users and work crews in a construction environment
- Completing daily traffic inspections and reports
- Safely driving the buffer truck
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience in traffic control in a busy, high-traffic environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and multitask within time constraints
- Physically capable of standing for long durations, moving traffic equipment and working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean 3-year driver’s abstract
- Flagger training certificate preferred
- CSTS-2020 and WHMIS 2015 certifications (training provided if needed)
Work Conditions
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (evenings and weekends free)
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions year-round
