**Organization Structure**

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Coordinator provides mid-level support to the Finance team, focusing on the payroll & benefit function.

**Summary of Responsibilities**

The Finance Coordinator provides mid-level and society-wide payroll & benefit function management and supports the Finance team. Key duties and responsibilities for this role include completing tasks such as periodic reporting of financial data for the organization, assisting in preparing the monthly/annual financial statements, auditing and analyzing balance sheet accounts, ensuring compliance with financial reporting and standard accounting procedures, conducting internal financial audits, and reconciling bank statements.

Scope and Complexity

The Finance Coordinator demonstrates leadership by providing timely advice, direction, and guidance to the Finance team and other internal and external to the Society. The Finance Coordinator works in accordance with the mission, values, principles, and philosophy of Lookout Housing and Health Society. They will follow Lookout’s Code of Ethics, as well as complete work in a manner that meets the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and practices. The job functions are complex, requiring a high degree of confidentiality and concentrated mental and written attention.

Communications

Internal and External

The majority of communication is with the leadership team. The position will communicate with funders and will be required to provide written reports for internal purposes, funders, and public distribution. The position will also provide recommendations on process improvements and regular written reports to the Director of Finance and the CFO. The communications can be sensitive, and the Finance Coordinator must utilize a thorough knowledge of the Society & GAAP with strong communication and interpersonal skills to respond effectively to inquiries or to provide direction.

**Responsibilities**:

- Review bi-weekly payroll information for payroll processing.
- Review calculation of benefits, advances, sick leave, LTD, vacation pay, MPP, overtime hours, and other payroll and benefit tasks to ensure accuracy throughout the process.
- Reconciles accounts to GL monthly, such as payroll advances, pensions, benefits, and other tasks assigned.
- Monitors staffing expenditures against budgets by conducting internal financial reviews to check for compliance with terms, identifies discrepancies, and recommends solutions and options to the Director of Finance.
- Performs projections, forecasts, and analyses, including providing costing information to operations.
- Prepare monthly recurring transactions.
- Prepares and runs a variety of payroll and financial reports.
- Works with auditors to design, maintain, and prepare account reconciliation and working papers.
- Responds to inquiries from auditors and makes required adjustments.
- Develops work procedures and ensures that the transactions are accurate and deadlines are met.
- Ensures client rights of privacy and confidentiality are maintained.
- Maintains a current knowledge of and complies with all Lookout policies and procedures.
- Support other team members based on RASIC.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or the CFO.

**Qualifications**:
Education
- Diploma in Accounting/Payroll Management/Financial Management.
- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) is preferred.
- Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) is an asset.

Training and Experience
- Three (3) years of training in payroll and/or accounting, and recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors is an asset.
- Must pass criminal record checks, be bondable, and maintain a current Standard First Aid Training Certificate.

- Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment, including advanced proficiency with systems, including financial software, data management, and Excel.

**Salary**:$76,523 - $99,819 per year. The pay range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full-time equivalent hours. Incumbents are typically hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience to role requirements
