**Compensation**: $26-$36/hr Based on Experience and Certification level

**Job Summary**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Health and Safety Compliance_
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, including WorkSafeBC standards and other provincial and federal laws.
- Update safety policies and procedures in line with changes in legislation and best practices.
- Provide Safety Orientation for all new workers on site
- Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification_
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace and recommend corrective actions.
- Participate in monthly trade/safety meetings
- Incident Management_
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and providing recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
- Safety Inspections and Audits_
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of facilities to ensure compliance.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping_
- Maintain accurate records of health and safety-related documentation, including training records, inspection reports, and incident investigations.
- Prepare monthly reports on health and safety activities and provide updates to management.
- Key Skills and Attributes_
- Ability to address most site safety-related issues proactively and efficiently.
- Strong working knowledge of industry-specific hazards common to residential construction environments.
- Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety.
- Communicates safety protocols clearly to all team members on-site.
- Acts as the primary first aid attendant on the job site. Minimum OFA 2/Intermediate First Aid Required. Transportation endorsement not required
- Education and Experience_
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within an industrial, construction, or manufacturing environment.
- Skills and Competencies_
- Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and other applicable health and safety legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with SiteDocs or other Health and Safety software is a plus.
- Basic carpentry skills for installing safety devices such as handrails/guardrails according to

**Working Conditions**
- On-Site Work_
- All work will be completed on the job site, which is a residential construction project currently underway.
- A designated space will be provided for completing administrative tasks.
- Site Movement and Safety_
- Role involves regular movement throughout the job site, including areas under active construction.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times on-site.
- Exposure to typical construction site conditions, including varying weather, noise, and potential hazards.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $26.00-$36.00 per hour

- Abbotsford, BC V2S 2C5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
