**Scope of Position**
As a Construction Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the Construction Manager in overseeing all construction-related activities. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with various stakeholders, managing construction sites, coordinating with trades, contractors, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
**Functional Areas**
- Project Coordination:_
- Collaborate with the Construction Manager in developing and executing comprehensive project plans.
- Coordinate site staff and external stakeholders (trades and consultants) to ensure successful project delivery.
- Act as the primary contact for all city correspondence related to construction projects.
- Budgeting & Scheduling:_
- Assist in coordinating and estimating projected hard costs for each development project.
- Track labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services costs.
- Review and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices.
- Provide department-specific data to the Finance team for annual corporate budgeting.
- Tendering and Contract Management:_
- Assist in drafting and submitting Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for consultants and contractors.
- Manage purchases and secure contracts for construction materials and services.
- Facilitate change orders, contract reviews, and oversee project administration functions.
- Construction Supervision:_
- Oversee and manage construction activities, ensuring adherence to all pertinent codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, report on issues, and maintain effective communication between the construction site and various stakeholders.
- Reporting and Communication:_
- Prepare monthly departmental reports on staffing, budget tracking, and departmental KPIs.
- Generate monthly or quarterly site-specific development or construction reports for internal and external audiences.
- Maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders and foster a positive team environment.
- Safety and Risk Management:_
- Facilitate implementation and enforcement of RFS’s safety program across all projects.
- Participate in safety inspections during site visits to ensure compliance, identify hazards, and support the implementation of corrective measures.
- Assist with developing and maintaining emergency response plans for all projects.
**Position Requirements**
- Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in building construction and/or project management.
- Possess working knowledge of building construction processes, from site mobilization to project close-out, with multi-family wood-frame construction considered an asset.
- Able to meet multiple deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Present effective communication, organizational, and analytical skills with great attention to detail.
- Demonstrate experience in project budgeting, procurement, and contract negotiations.
- Prepared to engage, follow, and develop under management with accountability, resilience, and a positive attitude.
- Possess working knowledge and experience in the use of Project Management software/tools.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
