**About Us**

Abe's Door Service Ltd. has provided residential, commercial and industrial overhead door service and installation for over 44 years in the Edmonton area.

**Job Profile**

Our Shop Assistants are responsible for the overall organization and availability of tools and equipment within the shop, including safe and efficient handling and delivery of tools, equipment and materials to customer sites. Shop Assistants will be provided on-the-job training and have the opportunity for career advancement as Overhead Door Technician Assistants.

**Responsibilities**:

- Under direction, and working as part of a team, assist in the organization of tools, equipment and materials for Overhead Door Technicians/Assistants as needed.
- Help maintain inventory control, ensuring the shop is adequately stocked with the products and materials needed to fulfill work assignments.
- Manage incoming and outgoing deliveries, including preparation, receipt and verification of accompanying documentation.
- Perform pick up of product orders from vendors and deliveries to customer sites as required.
- Assist in maintaining the tool and equipment maintenance program.
- Assist in painting, building, and overlay of door panels.
- Maintain proper housekeeping in the shop.
- Ensure work undertaken meets Health and Safety requirements, as per company, client and/or Provincial standards.
- Communicate clearly with coworkers and with others on client sites (e.g. customer representatives, other tradespersons, etc).
- Gain knowledge and understanding of the operation and functionality of the equipment and components as it relates to commercial and industrial door systems.
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications/Requirements**
- Valid class 5 driver's license.
- Clean drivers abstract.
- Clear criminal background check.
- Able to pass a drug and alcohol test as per client/site requirements.
- Able to lift and hold heavy loads (35kgs/80lbs).
- Able to work at heights (from ladders and mobile elevated work platforms).
- Able and willing to work in all weather conditions.
- Able to be clean shaven when required.
- Reliable, punctual, and have consistent work attendance.
- Able to work well independently as well as part of a team.
- Willing to work overtime and weekends to meet customer requirements.
- Previous experience in the construction industry an asset.
- Safety certificates an asset but can be provided (CSTS, WHMIS, MEWP, Fall Pro, First Aid).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
