Position Summary

**LIS System Analyst II, Laboratory Info System**:
Your goal in this position is to provide support and maintenance of the Laboratory Information System and provide support for the Point of Care program. This position is responsible for the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the Laboratory computer systems and Point of Care System. You have the ability to work independently. You have excellent organizational skills and prioritize workloads and projects. You have the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively. You have excellent written and oral communication skills. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families.
On a practical level, you will

Help develop, implement and maintain the Laboratory Information System

Provides system support to users of the LIS and supports equipment related systems as required

Provides support to maintain the Point of Care program

Plans, co-ordinates and documents computer systems evaluation, testing, implementation and validations

Point of Care testing and validation

Serves as a liaison between Laboratory Program and the Hospital IS

Assists management to ensure compliance with Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare (IQMH)

Provides technical assistance outside office hours

**Qualifications**:
A minimum of 5 years recent experience in computer and information technology

Knowledge of Cerner health information systems preferred

Knowledge of Point of Care program an asset

Experience with LIS system builds and system-to-system interface/connectivity an asset

Excellent knowledge in Excel, Word, Access and Power Point

MLT/CMLTO certification

Computer experience an asset

Bilingualism in French/English an asset
