**Child and Youth Worker**
- To ensure the needs and safety of the clients are met at all times.
- To complete all orientation requirements within 30 days of start date.
- To follow the daily recreational/house programming, nutritional guide and personal hygiene routines as outlined by Kushions.
- To complete all case notes and documentation pertaining to the client in a timely manner
- To read and complete the Daily Log Book and initial as well as documenting any upcoming appointments or calls received during your shift.
- Arrive 10-15 minutes early to participate in the shift change at the beginning and end of each shift clearly passing on pertinent information.
- To administer medication as prescribed by a health care professional and stored blister packed in the office file cabinet. Sign off in the Medication Administration Record Book (MAR). To document all medication administered in the appropriate records.
- To document all outings and any telephone calls received or made and any visits made within or outside the home.
- To accompany the child to any appointments as directed by Kushions and have a medical/dental visit sheet completed.
- To represent the child and the agency in a professional manner at all times documenting all conversations.
- To notify management/supervisor immediately in the case of a serious incident, injury or a serious occurrence involving a child.
- To make good judgment when authorizing an activity or in dealing with an agency.
- To make good sound judgments and be qualified and prepared to deal with adversity in the home.
- To be prepared at all times to provide physical escorts and restraints when necessary.

**When on duty your responsibilities include** **providing a safe and secure environment for our clients at all times as well as;**
- Ensuring all of the above responsibilities have been fulfilled.
- Treating clients with respect and understanding their uniqueness as individuals.
- Checking all case notes, incident reports, medication logs and daily log for completion and signatures at the end of your shift.
- Contacting one of the owners regarding a Serious Occurrence and forwarding all Initial Notification reports as outlined in the Serious Occurrence Reporting Procedures.

Liaising with and documenting communication from Social Workers, Professional Services and Placing Agencies

Full COVID Vaccine(2 doses) and G Driver's License required.
