**SPRINT Senior Care** began caring for seniors and enabling seniors to care for themselves in 1983. We continue to do so today as an accredited, not-for-profit community support service agency in Toronto by offering a wide range of practical and low-cost services to seniors and their caregivers. Our services help seniors stay safe, connected, and live as independently as possible. They also prevent premature or inappropriate institutionalization.

**Position Type**:Bargaining Unit Position; Full-Time, Contract (Contract Length: 8 Weeks)

**Reports To**:Manager, Social Work

**Location**:Various SPRINT Senior Care locations and client residences

**Responsibilities**:The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

- Assist Social Workers in evaluating and support client conditions and needs.
- Contact clients and follow up with enquiries.
- Advise clients and their families or caregivers about help that is available to them.
- Counsel family members to assist them in understanding and supporting the client.
- Provide socialization with clients.
- Maintain client profiles and update manuals.
- Assist with administrative tasks and projects.
- Attend and participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Enrolled in or completed a post-secondary degree or diploma in Social Work, Social Service Worker, or Community Service Worker.
- Experience working with seniors and persons with dementia is an asset.
- Counselling skills including active listening and a non-judgemental approach.
- Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
