**Vegetable Produce Associate Job Summary**
Our growing food retail business requires a courteous and customer-focused individual to join our Produce Team. As the applicant, you are enthusiastic about customer service, product quality, and merchandising; you are a team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced food service environment.

**Vegetable Produce Associate Responsibilities and Duties**
- Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every guest, directing them to products in the store, maintaining solid product knowledge and all other components of customer service.
- Attractively merchandise produce displays each day with quality products to provide customers with premium choice and an eye-pleasing experience.
- Creatively adjust displays to introduce new product, highlight specials or to encourage sales of excess inventory.
- Carefully prepare produce by inspecting, trimming, cutting, washing, packaging or wrapping to meet all quality standards.
- Fill, maintain and rotate products and displays to ensure the freshest product and avoid preventable product loss.
- Properly store all fresh and prepared product to maintain highest quality.
- Consistently monitor displays and inventory, and adjust prepared stock amounts to meet customer demand.
- Ensure that signage is accurately displayed for ease in the customer experience.
- Ensuring work areas are ready for produce prep by cleaning surfaces, equipment and floors, removing garbage, as well as stocking required materials and confirming that tools are in safe, working order.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and other regulatory agencies.
- Train new Vegetable Produce Team Members in all aspects of the job in order to maintain consistency in the department.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, as well as other department members, to offer quality customer service.
- Assist in other duties or departments as assigned.

**Physical Requirements**
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending kneeling, stooping, crouching and climbing during each shift.
- Must frequently lift items ranging from 5-50lbs.
- Able to safely operate pallet jack, cutting utensils and employ safe lifting practices.
- Eye-hand coordination.
- An employee may be exposed to frequent temperature changes and a variety of work environments, including noise and high activity.
- An employee should be sighted and able to smell, taste and handle product to ensure quality.

**Expected Hours of Work**:
Weekend and holiday hours are required. Occasional weekday shifts.
