Estimating Manager

Estimating Manager
Reports directly to the Director of Estimating on all matters regarding projects. The Estimating Manager is responsible for quantity takeoffs for window, curtain wall and railing systems. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Architectural Technology or Construction Management; and
- Construction Estimation Certification is an asset.

Years of Experience
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in Estimating Window Wall, Curtain Wall and Railing System.

Job Specific Duties
- Prepare costing sheets;
- Create, review and submit bid proposals;
- Review work of Intermediate and Junior Estimators;
- Send Request For Information (RFI) to clients;
- Obtain and review supplier quotes;
- Build and maintain relationships with colleagues, customers, consultants, contractors and suppliers as required;
- Prepare and review work to be estimated by gathering tender documents, drawings, specifications and reports;
- Read reports such as energy modelling reports, cladding wind pressure studies and acoustic reports;
- Attend internal scope of work meeting with Engineering Manager, Project Manager, and Chief Estimator as required;
- Note discrepancies in the tender information and bring to the attention of engineering for discussion on how to deal with discrepancies;
- Create price matrix for each project as required;
- Represent State, as requested, in business with clients, tenders, consultants, contractors, and suppliers as required; and
- Any other tasks assigned by the Director of Estimating.
