We are a group of Transit professionals executing on the Region’s vision of a sustainable transportation system providing safe, reliable and customer-focused transit services to our community.
**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, this exciting opportunity would be well suited for a leader who is looking to be part of a dynamic service-oriented team. As the Supervisor, Transit Operations you will supervise both conventional and specialized bus operators and will also be responsible for supervising on-street transit services and operations.
- You will have a strong knowledge of transit operations and progressively responsible supervisory experience in the areas of street operations, dispatch, administration, operator recruitment, and training and performance management.
- You bring to the table strong communication and human relations skills to respond to the public, and to provide follow up and feedback.
- You will coordinate transit service route and schedule adjustments, monitor software systems, and patrol transit routes to monitor work performance.
- We will look to you to investigate incidents and collisions and provide all appropriate documentation and feedback.
- You will communicate with emergency services to assist with investigations and contact staff regarding road conditions, detours and road alignments.
- You will have demonstrated leadership skills to supervise, instruct, and train staff in work methods and procedures.
- You will have a strong background in the coordination and organization of work for a large team.
- Along with your acceptable driving record, you will possess a valid class C driver's license with Z-air brake endorsement or, must have a valid G driver’s license and ability to attain a CZ within the probationary period.
- Ability to work rotating shifts anywhere between the hours of 4 a.m. and 3 a.m., including weekends and statutory holidays.
- You will have strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and transit operating systems.
- Ability to support and demonstrate the Region’s values.

In addition to offering a competitive compensation package, we have a strong focus on health and wellness, including fitness facilities and family-focused benefits. The salary of this position ranges between $80,847.00 and $101,049.00 per annum (Grade 5 on the Management & Management Support wage scale).
