This is a full-time Support Staff Bargaining Unit position reporting to the Manager, Financial Services working 35 hours per week at an hourly rate of $35.83 (Pay Band I).

**Specific Accountabilities**:

- Provides complex financial reporting and analysis throughout the fiscal year to support management financial reporting to various stakeholders;
- Responsible for assembling and analyzing financial data using varied approaches in compiling balance sheet accounts, month-end / year-end audit working papers and financial statements and external reports;
- Liaises between Finance and operating departments to resolve reporting and account analysis queries;
- Prepares numerous and various financial working papers for Research, Employment Services, Ministry, Colleges and Universities (MCU) and the Lambton College Foundation;
- First point of contact for many account holders for assistance with their accounts, general ledger transactions and funding envelope interpretations and reporting;
- Gives financial guidance to appropriate staff and management to ensure project funding, reporting and other financial issues are properly carried out according to the terms of the contracts/agreements;
- Responsible for ensuring proper accounting financial entries leading to quarterly and year-end financial reporting;
- Prepares variance analysis of year over year revenue and expenditure for College management and external auditors to support the financial audit data;
- Provides advice and guidance to the accounting staff on accounting transactions, general ledger postings, and quarter end, year end processes to ensure data accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting;
- Verify budget and actual financial data with funding agreements for Research financial reporting;
- Reconciles and prepares the documents for scholarship and bursary T4A issuance to students and remittance to Canada Revenue Agency;
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Four-year Business Administration degree with a concentration in Accounting is required;
- Must be enrolled in the Chartered Professional Accounting Program;
- At least three years practical experience with financial reports and statement working paper preparation;
- Progressive experience working in a computerized accounting system and with other analytical and reporting tools ideally with a non-profit medium sized institution;
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;
- Experience with enterprise-wide financial and budgeting systems, (e.g. Colleague);
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, with the capacity to understand complex financial issues;
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic environment with changing priorities and able to produce results within tight timelines;
- Proficiency with desktop reporting software (Excel and rest of MS suite etc.);
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
- Time management skills and prioritization abilities;
- A collaborative team player who takes personal accountability to deliver on what is expected in your role and you strive for excellence every day.
