The Opportunity

As an Intern - Application and Infrastructure Operations Support, you will be paired with an IT Manager with an opportunity to work on different streams i.e. from Application Support to Infrastructure Support, including IT Service Management processes. The position is responsible for providing support and oversight for the portfolio of technology and process improvement initiatives that are collectively encompassed under IT Operations to support the effectiveness and efficiency of IT Processes and Solution Delivery.

The scope of accountability includes the support driving IT support by working closely with the Application or Infrastructure Support manager and leadership to help drive strategies to satisfy the operational requirements of the Information Technology Division and/or Corporate Division clients. The position provides support to our leadership in designing, implementing, and monitoring improvements to processes and related technology to drive improvements and efficiencies within the IT division.

Who you’ll work with

As a member of the Technology Infrastructure team, you will work closely with department leaders to ensure processes meet the defined requirements and related objectives. You will assist in developing the IT Business Process Application roadmap and IT Support execution. Programs are organizational units established within Investment IT to provide information technology focus, for key lines-of-business and business processes, supporting the Investments, Finance, and corporate divisions.

What you’ll do
- Support and Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineers, Operations support stakeholder, and user, and information technology stakeholders to identify opportunities to drive improvements in Application Support.
- Support line-of-business technology activities based on approved initiatives and strategies to help drive new solutions, enhancements and production support activities.
- Collaborate with line-of-business owners, customer stakeholders, and information technology stakeholders in selecting solutions for support implementation.
- Opportunity to learn Infrastructure transformation from On-Prem Data center components to Cloud
- Evaluates line-of-business technology requirements through support and drive ITSM processes like Incident Management, Major Incident communications, Root Cause Analysis, Change Management, etc.
- Responsible for the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of knowledge repository to improve Application Support.
- Accountable for the efficient operation and continuous improvement of line-of-business technology capabilities, processes, and practices.

What you'll need
- Program of study In Computer Science, Engineering or relevant university or college degree
- A good understanding of business objectives, processes and practices related to the line of-business
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in information technology service delivery is an asset
- Experience delivering services and solutions specifically aligned to the requirements of the Program and its customers is an asset
- Experience or exposure with the following:.NET, SQL, Python, C#, Cloud Infrastructure, ServiceNow, and Power BI, Cloud, AI automation capabilities
- Good understanding of solutions and technologies supporting the current and future needs of the line-of-business
- Good understanding of general investment management, investment finance and corporate concepts, processes and practices
- Good understanding of ITIL V3/V4 processes
- General knowledge or understanding of technologies, techniques and tools pertaining to the analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of software solutions
- Good understanding of software platforms, groupware, middleware, databases, connectivity solutions and hardware platforms
