Scrum Master Job Description

**Responsibilities**:

- Serve as an Agent of Change & encourage continuous improvement to increase the productivity of the team and quality of deliverables.
- Plan and facilitate sprint events including Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, demo, retrospective, and daily stand-up meetings.
- Help identify and remove impediments and blockers that prevent the team from delivering their sprint goals.
- Partner with product owner/product manager to effectively create, maintain and refine the product backlog.
- Maintain relevant metrics and information radiators to guide the development teams and show their progress in meeting business objectives.
- Teach, mentor, and facilitate Scrum and Kanban best practices within the team as well as Agile Values and Principles.
- Participate in collaborative activities in growing the Agile Practice at TBI
- Develop Agile teams into a high performing team. Motivating team members and influencing decisions without formal authority.
- Help the team stay focused & organized and making the team’s work visible and transparent to stakeholders.
- Understanding and communicating the impact of changes or new information on team velocity and their predictability.
- Manage the team dependencies and coordinate work with other internal or external teams

**Requirements**:
Mandatory:

- Solid understanding and experience with various Agile Methodologies and frameworks.
- Possess a Scrum Master Certification (CSM, SSM, PSM);
- 5+ years experience as a Scrum Master delivering medium-to-large scale initiatives.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a high attention to detail.
- Strong experience with JIRA Software and Confluence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills.

Nice to Have:

- Software development experience is an asset.
- Any Agile certifications outside of the Scrum Master Role (CSD, PSPO, CSP, PSM, RTE, CSPO etc.)
