**Position Summary**:
As the key sensory contact, they will provide expertise on methodologies and testing design, have in depth knowledge of consumer testing principles and a demonstrated ability to recruit, train and manage a descriptive panel. They will work collaboratively with R&D, Marketing, Technical Services and QA teams to support key innovation/renovation priorities and help to translate the sensory deliverables for consumers.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Leadership**: Lead and mentor sensory scientists and/or technicians, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- ** Sensory Evaluation**: Oversee the design and execution of sensory evaluation studies to assess product quality, consumer preferences, and market trends.
- ** Product Development**: Collaborate with R&D, marketing, and production teams to develop new products and improve existing ones based on sensory insights.
- ** Quality Assurance and Quality by Design**: Ensure sensory quality standards are met throughout the product lifecycle, from ingredients to finished goods. As well, ensure quality standards and procedures throughout product development cycle are properly recorded and documented, including but not limited to all sensory and product scoring evaluations for all projects.
- ** Consumer Insights**: Analyze sensory data and consumer feedback to provide actionable insights for product development and marketing strategies, ensuring that rigor in test design is applied.
- ** Training**: Develop and implement training programs for sensory panelists and staff to ensure consistent and reliable sensory evaluations.
- ** Innovation**: Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in sensory science and baking technology to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- ** Cross-functional**: Develop strong partnerships with all key stake holders (PD, Marketing, Technical, QA, Consumer Insights, External Vendors), and continue to set the standard for Global GB Sensory function.

**Desired Skills and Experience**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Food Science, Sensory Science, or a related field.
- ** Experience**: Minimum of 5 years of experience in sensory evaluation, preferably in the food or baking industry.
- ** Skills**: Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in sensory evaluation techniques and statistical analysis. Strong project management skills and ability to change and adapt priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- ** Communication**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and insights to diverse audiences in English. Intermediate fluency in French and/or Spanish will be an asset.
- ** Passion**: A genuine passion for baking and a commitment to delivering high-quality products.

**Other Qualifications**:

- Competent in MS Office programs
- Basic knowledge of culinary processes and laboratory methods
- Compusense knowledge an asset
- Valid full G driver’s license and regular access to a vehicle
