**Office Administrator**
Are you an organized and detail-oriented professional who thrives in keeping an office running smoothly? Do you enjoy creating a welcoming and efficient workspace while supporting a dynamic team? If this sounds like you, Big Block Construction is looking for you
**Company Summary**
At Big Block Construction, we’re on a mission to revolutionize the way multi-unit and mixed-use housing is built across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and British Columbia. By advancing internal capacity for organizations, we’re helping build stronger communities at full throttle.
We are seeking an exceptional Office Administrator to join our team. This is more than just an administrative role; it’s an opportunity to shape our office environment, support our team, and contribute to our company culture in meaningful ways.
**Why You’ll Love This Role - And Why We’ll Love You**
You’re the kind of person who makes things happen. You see the details others miss, anticipate needs before they arise, and create seamless, stress-free environments where people can do their best work. If you thrive on bringing order to chaos, delighting others with thoughtful touches, and solving problems before they even exist—this role was made for you
- **You’re an organizational powerhouse** - Calendars, supplies, office logistics—you manage them all with precision and care, ensuring everything runs like a well-oiled machine.
- **You bring the energy** - Whether it’s planning a memorable team event, celebrating milestones, or just making the workplace feel warm and welcoming, you create a culture where people feel valued and excited to show up.
- **You’re a resourceful problem-solver** - If something needs fixing, streamlining, or improving, you’re already on it. You anticipate needs, take initiative, and find creative solutions without waiting to be asked.
This isn’t just an Office Administrator role—it’s your chance to be the heartbeat of a dynamic, engaged team. Sound like you? Let’s make magic happen
**Our Culture at Big Block Construction**
We work hard, we innovate, and we celebrate success. Our core values drive everything we do:
**RESULTS- Own the Outcome.**
Win or learn — either way, we own the outcome and are stronger for it. We follow through, speak up, and finish strong.
**ENERGY - Bring the Spark.**
Progress requires fuel — we show up charged, use our unique abilities, uplift each other, and spark momentum. When things get tough, we rally together and celebrate progress along the way.
**DRIVE - Do the Work.**
We step up to opportunity, chart the course, and set the pace with care. If it matters, we find a way; if it doesn’t, we pivot. We take the work seriously, not ourselves.
At Big Block, these values aren’t just words on the wall—they’re the heartbeat of how we build, grow, and win together.
**What You’ll Do**
As our Office Administrator, you will be an essential support by:
**Keeping the office running smoothly** - Managing supplies, equipment, and common areas to ensure everything is stocked, functional, and welcoming. Handling facility, security, and vendor needs while supporting safety and administrative compliance requirements.
**Bringing people together** - Planning and organizing staff events, birthdays, and celebrations. Assisting with life-event moments like flowers or gifts, coordinating sponsorships, and helping with company-wide training sessions and gatherings.
**Coordinating schedules and travel** - Managing calendars, meetings, and training sessions to avoid conflicts. Booking travel and accommodations, preparing agendas, distributing reminders, and ensuring meeting readiness with thoughtful attention to detail.
**Supporting communication flow** - Acting as the first point of contact for staff needing support, managing shared inboxes and internal directories, and keeping everyone informed with timely updates, reminders, and notices that reflect our company culture.
**Providing administrative and executive support** - Submitting and organizing receipts, invoices, and records, filing contracts and correspondence, and assisting the leadership team with day-to-day administrative needs—accurately and on time, every time.
**What We’re Looking For**
**Qualifications and Experience**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Post-secondary education in administration, business, or related field
- Two years or more previous experience in office administration, executive assistance, or a similar role.
- Asset: Experience managing events, and coordinating office operations and personnel
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work under deadlines.
