VG Meats is looking for a Production Manager in Simcoe, ON The Production Manager or Supervisor to assist with the workload. They will be directly responsible for overseeing the daily operations and developing strategies to ensure they meet production goals at mínimal cost. The Production Manager shall demonstrate and promote the following qualities: Mutual Respect Humility Solution-Oriented Proactive Truth-Seeking Transparent Communication Discipline Why should you work for us? 25% off employee discount A growing company offering many learning experiences We are a regenerative employer meaning that the organization continues to build a workplace that is good for its staff, producers, customers and communities. **What you will do as the Production Manager**: Work directly with department heads to coordinate production and distribution activities and ensure smooth daily operations Train supervisors and administrators, give performance reviews, institute employee policies and procedures and motivate staff to meet or exceed production goals Build and maintain a trusting relationship with employees and communicate about performance expectations Hire and onboard new staff Give useful feedback to employees Test and monitor plant processes Prepare and analyze production and performance reports; determine KPIs and measure them on a regular basis Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations Develop and drive continuous improvement initiatives Participate in various activities related to safety, quality, productivity, innovation, information and data security, supply management, marketing, people management, and other delivery Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus Adhere to the company's rules and regulations Stay up to date with the latest production trends, best practices and technology **Reports to**: General Manager Other duties as assigned **5 Major Categories of Production Manager Duties**: "To efficiently and safely manage a team to produce high-quality products, while minimizing waste, and constantly pursuing opportunities to reduce costs". Safety Efficiency Quality Waste Continuous Improvement **Requirements/Qualifications**: College diploma or degree in manufacturing/production management or a related field of study; and/or equivalent related work experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills combined with strong organizational skills Computer literate and mechanically inclined 5 + years of previous management experience in a food manufacturing environment with proven leadership skills; Effective leadership skills and motivational abilities, with a strong focus on plant and business processes Ability to identify key issues, overcome internal challenges or obstacles creatively and strategically A clear and solid understanding of personnel policies, practices, procedures and other operational issues faced by the organization Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution and people management skills **About VG Meats**: VG Meats is dedicated to producing high-quality, healthy foods through sustainable farming practices.
