**The Position**:
Accountable to the Director of Housing, the Housing Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to assist the Director with a wide variety of tasks to support the effective and efficient delivery of housing services on shishalh Nation lands. This position is responsible for effective communications with community members, Housing Trustees and other outside agencies.
- Provides day-to-day support to the Housing Director by preparing memos, legal documents, correspondence, and other documents as necessary and by filing documents as required
- Draft routine correspondence to community members and outside agencies following file examples for the Housing Trustees’ review and signature
- Maintain all records for housing units, including unit classification, ownership status and other relevant history and information
- Maintain a record of all applicants, tenants and former tenants ensuring that all relevant information and documents are kept up to date
- Coordinate routine home repairs by receiving calls from community members, requesting quotes, and/or preparing work orders for signature
- Schedule and organize meetings of the Housing Trustees, take minutes at housing meetings, type and distribute minutes after meetings
- Assist Director with tenant relations through workshops, communication, and educational training for tenants
- Maintain high level of confidentiality regarding housing and community-member information

**Qualifications, Sills and Abilities**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Post-Secondary training in Office Administration
- Two (2) years of experience in an Administrative role or experience in Aboriginal Housing is an asset
- Highly skilled with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and office equipment
- Analytical skills, sound judgement and decision-making skills are required to assess situations and determine the best possible outcomes
- Ability to communicate professionally with external agencies and sensitively with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of shíshálh culture and community members is an asset
