**Job Description**:
What you can expect in a typical day:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Events team here at Irving Oil If you are an enthusiastic go getter who is passionate about project planning and events, then this role might be for you.
The Event Planner is responsible for overseeing the development, planning and execution of events within the Brand Organization and across the Irving Oil business. You will work with other Event Planners and Event Coordinators as well as internal stakeholders to plan events, both new and recurring. This role will be required to bring new ideas and proven experience to all events to keep event planning on track and on brand. Ownership over your work is required to create a branded and memorable experience for all event attendees.
The position will provide event management, logístical and administrative support, and executional direction on assigned events. This would include internal company-wide events, customer/employee appreciation events, trade shows, industry events, brand celebrations, retail promotional kick-offs and business information sessions. The role requires a strong focus on leading and supporting events and working with clients to develop and reinvent event experiences, plan detailed event logistics, work through purchasing processes and support event set-up and tear-down activities.
You will participate in and oversee planning stages of all events to ensure the Events Team members are all providing a fully branded and enhanced experience for all assigned events.

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

- Participate in all event brainstorm sessions that involve other event team leads, providing support and further ideas to develop an enhanced event experience
- Work with Event Coordinator to ensure as a team, we are delivering a consistent experience to all clients throughout the planning and development process
- Support other team members as they work to further develop their assigned events and reinvent the experiences, providing support in the form of ongoing input and direction on logistics, processes and operational questions
- Be the event lead on all assigned companywide, reinventing previous years events with a focus on implementing current brand standards
- Manage the organizing, planning, preparing and executing of assigned events from various business lines across the company.
- Ensure coordination of registration, staffing, collateral development, prizing and logistics management are effective and timely.
- Ensure all events meet brand positioning, along with business objectives.
- Work with external vendors to obtain necessary products and services.
- Develop a network of reliable and proven external event partners to leverage for events.
- Create summary reports of each event to share with stakeholders. Identify successes and areas of improvement for future events.
- Take direction from the Event Manager and collaborate with stakeholders from across the Irving Oil business.
