What You Will Get To Do

Reporting to the Supervisor of Recreation Client Services, the Part-time Receptionist/Cashier, 55+ Recreation Centre is responsible for performing reception and administrative duties associated with the Whitby 55+ Recreation Services, including:
- processing of memberships;- providing facility tours;- handling telephone and counter inquiries;- cash handling;- processing event and trip registrations for members; and,- other duties as may be assigned.

Using your excellent communication and interpersonal skills you foster a collaborative team environment among co-workers, and work well both independently and as part of a team. You demonstrate tact, diplomacy and sound discretion when working with a broad range of partners.

A high volume of work does not intimidate you. You are excellent at prioritization and time management, and can work under pressure to meet deadlines. You are a problem solver. You love to research and analyze problems: identifying, gathering and processing relevant information to determine possible solutions, evaluate them and make recommendations. As far as you’re concerned, anything worth doing is worth doing right.

What You Bring To Our Team

As the successful applicant, you must possess:
- a secondary school graduation diploma;- related administrative/clerical experience;- an intermediate level knowledge with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), with well-developed keyboarding skills;- current certification in Emergency First Aid and CPR ‘C’ with AED; and- a valid Police criminal record check to work with the vulnerable sector.

Salary Range/Hourly rate:
$21.84 - $24.18

Flex hours, including days, evenings and weekends (maximum of 24 hours per week).
