**OVERVIEW**

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Communications Coordinator Summer Student to join our team. As a Communications Coordinator, you will play a key role in developing and implementing effective communication strategies to promote our organization and engage with our target audience.

Our not-for-profit organization, Mishkiki Chichakk Kamik Medicine Spirit Lodge, provides traditional healing, medicine, ceremony, and land-based activities for residential school survivors, their families, and individuals impacted by post-traumatic stress and trauma.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Attend Daily Virtual Team Meetings
- Create Promotional Materials, Print & Digital
- Assist with Online Fundraising Campaigns
- Social Media Management & Content Creation
- Assist with Event/Program Planning
- Assist with Community Outreach
- Update Organizations Website
- Provide Weekly Team Briefing
- Assist with day-to-day operations as required

**Qualifications**:

- Enrolled in post-secondary education, in a related field.
- Students accepted into post-secondary for this coming fall, in a related field, are welcome to apply.
- Ability to work remotely, in a team and/or independently.
- Reliable access to internet and computer.
- Experience with basic video/photo editing.
- Experience with Wix an asset.
- Social channel online expertise.
- Graphic design and photography skills.
- Proficient in creating visually appealing digital media platforms and content.
- Exceptional communication skills and written skills.
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficient in word, PDF, and PowerPoint.

**ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS**

This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs fund. To be considered for this job you must:

- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Internship / Co-op
Contract length: 9-12 weeks

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 35 per week
