**About BECC Modular**
BECC Modular is a rapidly growing volumetric modular design build company, focused on building various modular buildings, from small scale shelters and institutional buildings to large scale affordable multi-residential housing projects across Ontario. With numerous projects won and more on the way, we are building our Construction & Management Team to be the first in hand to see our buildings come to life.
The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of inventory control within the construction company. This role involves planning, organizing, and implementing effective strategies to optimize inventory levels, ensure accurate inventory counts, and minimize stock discrepancies. The Inventory Manager will work closely with various departments to maintain a smooth flow of materials and supplies, ultimately contributing to the overall efficiency and profitability of the company.
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
Inventory Planning and Control
- Develop and implement inventory management policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock is maintained to meet production and project requirements.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Analyze demand patterns and forecast future inventory needs based on project schedules and historical data.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely procurement of materials and supplies.
Inventory System Management
- Implement and maintain an efficient inventory tracking system, utilizing appropriate software and tools.
- Regularly update inventory records, including item descriptions, quantities, and locations.
- Optimize the organization and storage of inventory items for easy accessibility and efficient space utilization.
- Perform and monitor shipping and receiving process.
- Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movement, and any potential issues or concerns.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline inventory management processes and enhance efficiency.
- Propose and implement process improvements to reduce lead times, eliminate waste, and enhance inventory accuracy.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented process improvements.
Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, operations, and project management, to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
- Coordinate with project managers to align inventory levels with project timelines and requirements.
- Communicate with suppliers and vendors to address any inventory-related issues, such as stock shortages or quality concerns.
Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate inventory-related risks, such as obsolescence, theft, or damage.
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize inventory holding costs while maintaining optimal stock levels.
- Implement appropriate inventory control measures to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
Logistic Management
- Manage and plan for logistics or transportation issues.
- Keep track of delivery times and transportation costs.
- Generate BOL’s (Bill of lading)
- Coordinate with third-party logistics partners to obtain necessary data and coordinate with internal transportation team to establish efficient processes.
- Manage all fleet operations and maintenance including warehouse equipment.
Perform other duties assigned by the team.
**Qualifications/ Experience**
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Familiarity with Acumatica is an asset.
- 5-7 years of Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in a construction or manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Logistic Management skills is a must.
- Familiar with generation of BOL’s (Bill of landing) is an asset.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and other relevant tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Knowledge of construction materials and industry-specific inventory management practices is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and procedures.
