**Overview**

**Duties**
- Assess students’ strengths and weaknesses to develop tailored tutoring plans.
- Educate students using engaging teaching methods that cater to different learning styles.
- Help students with homework, test preparation, and study skills.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes student confidence and motivation.
- Track and report on student performance to ensure continuous improvement.

**Skills**
- Previous experience in tutoring or classroom education is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey concepts and engage with students.
- Ability to educate and inspire children of various ages and backgrounds.
- Patience and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering student success.
- Familiar with Ontario Math and Science Curriculum.
- Ability to teach grade 11 and 12 math and science courses.

**Education**

**We look for tutors whom fall into the following categories**:

- Bachelor of Education with OCT in good standing
- Currently completing Bachelor of Education (already completed first degree)
- Completing Bachelor of Science degree (student)

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 - 10 per week

- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

We are hiring in person tutors to service the following geographic areas: Ajax, Pickering, Whitby, Oshawa, Markham, Scarborough, Bowmanville. Do you understand that you will be required to either meet students at their home or at the library to work in person?
