Our hours count Gain valuable teaching experience Oxford Learning Ajax is currently seeking part-time tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.
Tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.
Position Requirements
All Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours, typically two evenings (4:00 pm - 8:00 pm) as well as Saturdays (9:00 am - 1:00 pm for some schedules). A commitment of at least one year is required.
This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available.
Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education:
Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant fieldFourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be consideredTeaching certification an assetStrong knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry and Calculus, as well as vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology. MUST be able to support all math and science courses up to the Grade 12 level, especially Advanced Functions, trigonometry, Calculus/Vectors and physics.Experience:
Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) levelStrong English written and oral communication skillsStrong math skills and ability to guide students' understandingAbility to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a timeResponsibilities:
You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:
Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levelsTeaching in-personFollowing the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophiesFilling in post-lesson notesCompleting daily student communication updatesMaintaining a friendly and professional manner at all timesSmiles, High-Fives & Happy Students

Salary: $20 - $21 / hour
Schedule:
