**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the MH&A Director, Policy and Planning, the Consultant is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of core MHA services, standards, guidelines and best practices to improve the continuum of prevention and treatment services for individuals living with mental illness and addictions as it pertains to children and adolescents. The Consultant works to facilitate the implementation plan associated with health services planning and contributes to quality improvement initiatives, including but not limited to developing and implementing new models of service delivery and supporting workforce development initiatives.
The Consultant provides leadership, consultation and expertise within MH&A and stimulates inter-sectoral action, establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with national, Atlantic, provincial/IWK, district, municipal and community partners as well as with other departments within NSHA, including but not limited to primary care and public health.
The Consultant leads capacity building within MH&A in relation to evidence-based health care policies and intervention best practices in child and adolescent mental health care. Supports the Director in the development, implementation and evaluation of MH&A standards, guidelines, protocols, best practices and strategies that provide a foundation for mental health and addiction prevention and treatment programs and services throughout the province and across the continuum of need.
The primary responsibility of this consultant role will be to support the development and implementation of services in community mental health and inpatient services.
**About You**:
- Undergraduate degree in a health discipline or a related field (Business, Administration, Health Policy)
- Master's level preparation is an asset (in related health field, business, administration or public policy)
- 3-5 years of leadership experience with progressive accountabilities for project implementation, standards development, evaluation and adoption of best practices to deliver high quality services
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including report writing and presentation/engagement skills. A sample of previous written work may be requested
- Understands the principles of project management / change management and demonstrated ability to create and lead complex work teams
- Demonstrated results orientation with self-motivation, initiative and an eagerness to learn and contribute to meeting project deliverables
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and integration of evidence-informed decision making to support the development of high-quality programs, policies and practices.
- Demonstrated experience engaging teams, leaders, medical staff, clinicians, patients/families/clients/public and stakeholders in a collaborative, participatory manner.
- Experience and demonstrated expertise with data management and data analysis;
- Demonstrates effective decision making, problem solving skills, innovative, and excellent organizational and time management skills
- Innovative, flexible and agile with ability to prioritize multiple activities
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Experience working in a healthcare setting and/or with Healthcare organizations would be considered a significant asset.
- Demonstrated experience in project management/project administration is an asset
- Experience with contract administration or project financials is an asset
**Hours**:
- Permanent Full Time position; 75 hours biweekly
**Compensation and Incentives**:
$36.33 - $45.42 hourly
