**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Manager, MHA Program Development, the Consultant is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of core MHA services, standards, guidelines and best practices to improve the continuum of prevention and treatment services for individuals living with mental illness and addictions. The Consultant works to facilitate the implementation plan associated with health services planning and contributes to transformational improvement initiatives, including but not limited to developing and implementing new models of service delivery and supporting workforce development initiatives.

The position works closely with the Manager, MHA Program Planning, and MHA Program Planning Project Managers to strengthen the Program Planning & Development activities in the support of advancing transformational initiatives in Mental Health. The Consultant leads capacity building within MH&A Development team in relation to evidence-based policies and best practices. Supports the Manager in the development, implementation and evaluation of MH&A Development standards, guidelines, protocols, best practices, and strategies that provide a foundation for mental health and addiction prevention and treatment programs and services throughout the province and across the continuum of need.

The Consultant collaborates with system and external partners, identifies and monitors key indicators, and supports knowledge exchange across the health system and other sectors.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Bachelor’s Degree in health related discipline (Health Promotion, Public Health or Health Education preferred)
- Minimum five years related experience utilizing health promotion framework to inform policy changes and to develop programs aimed at promoting health, preventing disease, enhancing population health outcomes
- Strong analytical ability to interpret data and convey results in a way that is meaningful to key audiences.
- Background and experience in research methods, policy development, analysis and critical appraisal including awareness of evidence informed decision making;
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including report writing and presentation/engagement skills.
- Understands the principles of project management / change management and demonstrated ability to create and lead complex work teams
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and integration of evidence-informed decision making to support the development of high-quality programs, policies and practices.
- Experience and demonstrated expertise with data management and data analysis;
- Working experience with R, SAS, Stata considered an asset
- Experience working in a healthcare setting and/or with Healthcare organizations would be considered a significant asset.
- Demonstrated experience in project management/project administration is an asset
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

**Hours**:

- Permanent Full-time Position; 75 hours biweekly

**Compensation and Benefits**:
$37.61 - $47.01 Hourly
