We are seeking a motivated applicant to fill the role of **Instructor - Mental Health Supports. **The pay range for this position will be based on related experience, education and other relevant factors. Hours of work may vary (days, evenings and/or weekends) based on the training schedule. It is required for successful applicant to have a minimum availability of once per month to teach. The instructor will strive to achieve the goal of providing information, guidance and coaching to adult learners to enable comprehension and effective practice of the skill.

**Responsibilities**:

- Teaching Mental Health Supports at RHA Facilities.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance and Human Resources Department for training and scheduling.
- Build learners confidence to know when and how to act, supporting someone with mental health needs.
- Aware of Robin Hood Association’s Policy and Procedures and CET Standards.
- Participate and contribute with instructional team.
- Administer and mark in-class exams; verify learners have completed on-line pre-requisite learning prior to training.
- Provide additional instructional coaching support to staff on a one-on-one basis if required.
- Ensure accuracy of timesheets, and other, course paperwork.
- Responsible for set up and take down of classroom.
- Tidying and sanitizing of training space.
- Ensure timesheets, attendance sheet, class exams, and RHA Instructor / Course evaluation is completed after each class and sent to the Manager of Quality Assurance for processing.

Qualifications:

- Preference may be given to applicants with Mental Health Instructor status currently, or previously.
- Post-secondary education preferred, but not required _(preferably in education / psychology / human ecology/ nursing / law enforcement, or a related field)_
- Previous teaching experience an asset.
- Must be outgoing, friendly and possess a positive and professional attitude.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated skills in active listening, effective listening, and objective response.
- Ability to adapt course material to different learner styles.
- Exceptional problem-solving ability, flexibility.
- Collaboration and cooperation skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Reliable method of transportation.
- Demonstrated skills with using technology.
