We are seeking a motivated applicant to fill the role of **Instructor - First Aid. **The pay range for this position will be based on related experience, education and other relevant factors. Hours of work may vary (days, evenings and/or weekends) based on the training schedule. It is required for successful applicant to have a minimum availability of once per month to teach, this includes weekends. The Instructor will strive to achieve the goal of providing information, guidance and coaching to adult learners to enable comprehension and effective practice of the skill. The Instructor is responsible to train the course material, as specified by the training partner.
**Responsibilities**:
- Teaching certified First Aid Course, and CPR Courses at a RHA facility or other agency as required.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance and Human Resources Department for training and scheduling.
- Build learners confidence to know when and how to act in an emergency.
- Aware of Robin Hood Association’s Policy and Procedures and CET Standards.
- Participate and contribute with instructional team.
- Administer and mark in-class exam during training.
- Provide additional instructional coaching support to staff on a one-on-one basis if required.
- Ensure accuracy of filling out paperwork.
- Responsible for set up and take down/maintaining equipment.
- Tidying and sanitizing of training space.
- Ensure timesheets, attendance sheet, class exams, and RHA Instructor / Course evaluation is completed after each class and sent to the Manager of Quality Assurance for processing.
Qualifications:
- Preference may be given to applicants that have current Certified Instructor status, or are willing to obtain.
- Post-secondary education, preferred, but not required,_ _in Education or Health Sciences.
- Previous teaching experience an asset.
- Must be outgoing, friendly and possess a positive and professional attitude.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt course material to different learner styles.
- Exceptional problem-solving ability, flexibility.
- Collaboration and cooperation skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated skills with using technology.
- Reliable method of transportation.
