Food & Beverage Supervisor
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of staff who prepare, portion and serve food.
- Ensure all complaints, inquiries, and suggestions from customers are attended to accordingly.
- Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage.
- Train staff in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures.
- Ensure the kitchen and restaurant staff works harmoniously for a timely production of quality foods.
- Ensure that food and service meet quality standards.
- Help plan menus and determine related food and labour costs.
- Monitor food presentation to ensure it meets established standards for appearance and taste.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and bar, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory management.
- May participate in the selection of food service staff and assist in the development of policies, procedures, and budgets.
- Provide guidance and direction to restaurant staff, ensuring they follow safety and sanitation protocols.
- Motivate and lead the team to maintain a positive and efficient working environment.
- Establish work Schedules and Procedures.
- Monitor restaurant equipment to ensure it is in good working order and arrange for repairs or maintenance when necessary.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of supplies and place order as needed.
- Minimize food wastage by implementing proper storage and rotation procedures.
- Collaborate with the chef or head cook.
- Ensure that the restaurant operates in compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards, cleanliness, and hygiene.
- Train staff in safe food handling practices and conduct inspections.
- Ensure consistent and smooth running of food production.
- Ensure working areas are kept clean.
- Perform other administrative tasks communicated by the Director of Food and Beverages.
- Working towards exceeding customer's expectations by encouraging and promoting high levels of service.
- Resolve differences within the kitchen and report unresolved issues to the Chef.
- Report the need for maintenance in the maintenance order log.
**Required Education, Skills and Qualifications**
- Banquet Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years experience.
- Good sense of business ; efficiency and cost effectiveness in terms of labour management in the absence of the Chef.
- Able to cope under stressful conditions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong leadership skills and an ability to make quick decisions.
- Particular attention to details: adherence to specific ingredients and of measurements needed for various menus.
- Very strong management and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle criticism from customers.
- Must have open availability
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
