Our client in the hospitality, food, and catering industry is seeking a dynamic and experienced **Food & Beverage Supervisor (Operations Manager)** to lead the daily operations of a new restaurant offering a fusion of **African and intercontinental cuisine**.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead and manage day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring efficient service and an outstanding guest experience.
- Supervise and support front-of-house and back-of-house teams, including scheduling, and performance management.
- Develop and enforce service standards to ensure consistency and compliance with Alberta Health and Safety regulations.
- Oversee inventory, supplier relations, and purchasing processes to maintain cost-effective and high-quality operations.
- Collaborate with kitchen leadership on menu design, pricing, and promotions featuring African and intercontinental dishes.
- Address and resolve customer concerns professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction and loyalty.
- Monitor operational performance and provide regular reports on staffing, expenses, and service outcomes.
- Plan and execute culturally themed events celebrating African heritage and other global cuisines.
- Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, cultural associations, and local event partners.
- Contribute innovative ideas to strengthen the restaurant’s reputation as a destination for authentic and globally inspired dining experiences.
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2-3 years of supervisory or managerial experience in a restaurant, hotel, or food service environment.
- Strong understanding of food and beverage operations, with experience managing diverse culinary offerings.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Knowledge of African cuisine and culture is a strong asset; familiarity with intercontinental dining trends is highly desirable.
- **ProServe** and **Food Safety Certification** required (or willingness to obtain).
Pay: $18.50 per hour
