**Position Overview**

We're looking for a motivated physician assistant to help us implement an innovative model for the efficient delivery of quality care to cardiology department patients.

A brief list of the Physician Assistant’s duties will include the following:

- Complete patient medical history & physical examination
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, ECG, EEG, EMG, etc.).
- Provide treatment plans and diagnosis.
- Educate and counsel patients.
- Prescribe medications.
- Collaborate with the physician to ensure the quality of patient care.

Education and experience
- Graduate of a recognized physician assistant program or equivalent
- Successfully passed the Physician Assistant Entry to Practice Certification Examination and hold the CCPA designation
- Maintenance of yearly certification including 40 credits of continuing medical education annually

**Skills**:

- Current appropriate level of life-support training (e.g., BCLS)
- Ability to work in an interprofessional healthcare environment
- Excellent clinical judgment and innovative thinking
- Ability to function collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and practice in a self-directed manner
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills (French and English)

HOURS OF WORK:
Permanent Full-time - 37.5 hours per week.

**Criminal Check**

As a pre-condition of employment:

- All new HGH employees will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Police Records Check dated within six (6) months from the date of issue.
- As of now, HGH will require all employees, physicians, learners, contractors and volunteers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
