Advisor, Academic Affairs

Position Overview Operating in a manner consistent with HGH’s mission, vision, and values, the Advisor, Academic Affairs is responsible for the coordination, growth, and operational oversight of the hospital’s academic, learner, wellness, and quality portfolios within Medical Affairs.The incumbent leads the planning, coordination, and continuous improvement of medical learner programs (students, residents, fellows, and observers), academic appointments, academic reporting, and learner recruitment pipelines. The role acts as a key liaison between HGH and academic partners, including universities, teaching hospitals, and regional education programs.The Advisor plays a central role in strengthening HGH’s academic mission, supporting physician engagement, research activities, wellness initiatives, and quality improvement activities. The position functions as a subject-matter expert for academic operations and contributes to strategic growth, accreditation readiness, and institutional reputation as a teaching site.This role is distinct from physician recruitment and credentialing activities, which are managed through the Medical Affairs Advisor.The role includes several aspects: - Learners and Elective Coordination- Academic Appointments- Development & Growth- Quality & Wellness & Engagement Support- Administration & ReportingPERMANENT FULL-TIME POSITION HGH is a bilingual community hospital which has more than 800 employees and 160 physicians, and serves the Prescott-Russell region in Ontario.With a heritage of over 100 years of quality care delivery, HGH is known for its culture of compassion, spirit of innovation and excellence of care. What we are looking for • Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Health Administration, Education, or related field • 3 years of experience in Medical Affairs, Academic Affairs, Healthcare Administration, or Education Coordination• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English and French.• Strong organizational and coordination skills. • Very good multitasking and priority-setting abilities.• Strong analytical and reporting skills.• Ability to manage complex situations and academic workflows.• High degree of autonomy, judgment, and discretion.• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.• Ability to support change management and growth initiatives.• Very good data entry skills.• Proficient with MS suite of applications (strong Excel capabilities)• Very good analytical skills and abilities in the interpretation of results, evaluation of data and problem solving.• Good judgement and logic.
