**Key Responsibilities**:

- Knowledge of road construction, specifically paving work
- Ability to drive/ operate complex machinery
- Self-motivated, strong analytical skills and detail-oriented
- Ability to job plan and put activities into action
- Knowledge of paving equipment and the paving process
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies
- All other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent.
- High school graduate or G.E.D preferred
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in the road construction industry
- Set up the paver machine with automatics to control the thickness and width of the asphalt
- Preform daily inspections of equipment and any minor maintenance required
- Work closely with Paving Machine Operator to control paving machine speed
- Observe distribution of material over road surface to ensure uniform distribution
- Assist crew members in any other duties as required
- Ability to work alone and perform decision making tasks when needed
- Physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
- Must comply with Drug, Alcohol, and Fitness testing requirements.
- Availability to work both out-of-town and remote locations.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
