**What would a typical day be like?**
- Act as an influencer - able to stand their ground as needed, yet find win-win solutions to challenging situations
- Able to de-escalate tense situations and propose solutions and alternatives o Identify opportunities to improve JMP’s proposal accuracy, proposal efficiency, JMP’s profitability, revenue, employee experience and customer experience
- Involved in strategic planning to develop and drive strategic initiatives and goals
- Abreast of new technologies, and manufacturing processes and proactively develops and adopts into JMP practices
- Responsible for growing team starting with 10 employees and anticipated growth to 30+ over multiple locations throughout North America
- Drive leadership, structure, roles and responsibilities within the Applications team
- Directly responsible for good quality customer proposals that directly impact of $100M CAD of revenue and profitability
- Ensure proposals and communications are simple, easy to follow-understand
- Make customer interactions are extraordinary. They are impactful/insightful for the customer
- Identify & manage risks (technical, commercial, legal, etc.)
- Continue to develop tools & processes while also driving a rewarding experience for Applications Employees
- Act as an ambassador for JMP at industry and vendor events
- Identify opportunities to improve JMP’s proposal accuracy, proposal efficiency, JMP’s profitability, revenue, employee experience and customer experience
- Involved in strategic planning to develop and drive strategic initiatives and goals
- Abreast of new technologies, and manufacturing processes and proactively develops and adopts into JMP practices

**What qualifies you for this opportunity?**
- 15+ years of experience in industrial automation designing, building, supplying custom automation equipment to manufacturers.
- In-depth understanding of robotics, automation, control systems, mechanical design for automation, OEE and overall effectiveness of manufacturing equipment
- Experienced at designing/supplying automation equipment that appeals to those that will operate and maintain the equipment and make their jobs more convenient, efficient, and enjoyable
- Able to make the complex simple. Strategically understand the moving parts, and communicate the key tactics/strategies. The ability to distill complex processes (technical, people, process, political) into simple, actionable strategies to move forward
- In depth knowledge of various manufacturing processes from Automotive, Food and Beverage, Consumer Products and/or Life Science industries
- Deep relationships industry suppliers
- Reliable transportation and an ability to travel; **Director of Applications** at JMP should have the ability to travel within the US and Canada

- Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
