**Job Summary**:
**Responsibilities**:
**Stocking and Restocking**:
Restock beer, liquor, wine, and other beverages behind the bar.
Ensure that garnishes, napkins, straws, and other supplies are readily available.
Refill ice bins and ensure ice machines are always functioning.

**Cleaning and Organization**:
Keep the bar area clean, wiping down surfaces, and disposing of empty glassware.
Collect and wash glassware and utensils.
Maintain the cleanliness of bar equipment and tools.

**Assisting Bartenders**:
Assist bartenders in preparing drink ingredients (slicing fruits, preparing mixes, etc.).
Help serve drinks to customers when necessary, ensuring accuracy and quality.

**Trash and Recycling**:
Empty trash bins and recycling containers regularly.
Ensure proper separation and disposal of waste materials.

**Customer Service**:
Greet and engage with customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
Assist customers with inquiries and direct them to the appropriate staff member.

**Support During Busy Times**:
Provide extra support during peak business hours, special events, and game nights.
Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely food and drink service.

**Inventory Management**:
Keep track of inventory levels and report shortages to the bar manager.
Assist in conducting periodic inventory checks.

**Compliance**:
Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations.
Follow responsible alcohol service guidelines and prevent over-serving.

**Qualifications**:
Must be of legal drinking age (typically 19+ in Vancouver).
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience as a barback or in a similar role is a plus.
Basic knowledge of various types of beverages and drink preparation is advantageous.
Ability to lift and carry heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

**Working Conditions**:
This position involves working evenings, weekends, and holidays, as the bar operates during these times.
The bar environment can be noisy and fast-paced.
