Job Summary

The Project Manager Assistant (PMA) works directly with the Project Manager (PM). This position focuses on assisting the Project Manager with each job, ensuring all facets of the workflow is seamless. These duties could include but are limited to: creating job files, providing timely updates to all stakeholders, estimating costs, and maintaining accurate and up to date information on active files, all while providing excellent customer service to our clients. The PMA will assist the PM with contacting and scheduling the sub-trades to ensure the scope of work is followed within the provided budget.

Job Requirements
- Construction and/or restoration experience.
- Understanding of insurance claims and property management as they relate to restoration.
- Good communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal).
- Proven ability to work both independently and within a team to drive successful projects.
- Valid BC driver’s license with a satisfactory driver abstract.
- Passing a criminal record check.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Adaptable to sudden changes.
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Experience with Encircle is an asset.
- Knowledge and experience with Xactimate is an asset.
- Must be organized, and have strong interpersonal skills and negotiation skills.
- Being punctual and having an eagerness to learn is essential to the role.
- You must be a team player that is willing to go above and beyond to help your team.

Job Responsibilities

Work closely with PM to meet the following responsibilities:

- Contacting customers and homeowners to gain and pass on job information.
- Managing job-related documents.
- Creating tasks and sending timecards.
- Scheduling and dispatching subtrades.
- Assisting the PM with on-site estimates for residential and commercial mitigation and reconstruction.
- Liaising with appropriate departments, sub-trades, homeowners, and adjusters of the status of work. Inspect progress and work quality throughout the project lifespan.
- Liaising with appropriate departments and sub-trades to ensure that work is completed on time, on budget and meets Downs Construction’s quality standards.
- Delivering exceptional customer service to insurance stakeholders, homeowners and property managers. Be proactive in resolving customer service issues.
- Ensuring all relevant safety standards are followed per Downs Construction and WorkSafeBC requirements.

Compensation and Work Environment
- Salary: $24.00 - $29.00 (based on experience)
- Position: full-time
- Flexible and fun working environment, family-orientated culture, and multiple staff parties a year.
